From Dreams to Action: A Journey of Hope.

From a Cup of Tea to a Movement of Change...
It all began with a few like minded individuals, sitting on a broken bench at a humble road side tea shop. There, over cups of tea and conversation filled with hope, they nurtured a shared dream – a dream of a place where the flowers of knowledge would bloom. A place where children, adults, men and women could come together to break the chains of proverty to rewrite the destinies and walk towards a life of dignity, learning and light.
What started as a quiet vision at the corner of a street became the seed of a movement to change life’s cycle into one of purpose and progress. where There is Goodwill.
There is a Way With strong goodwill and a shared dream, we believed that the goal was not just a possibility—but a certainty. Despite our limitations, we worked tirelessly, engaging in various social activities and extending our reach to the remote villages of West Bengal, particularly Sundarban and Kakdwip. Through our travels, we witnessed first hand the harsh realities faced by underprivileged rural communities—their struggles for livelihood, health, education, and their constant battle against wildlife threats and natural calamities.
Our sincerity, relentless effort, and crystal-clear transparency touched the hearts of many. One such patron, Mr. Partha Guha, Managing Director, M/s. GBC Infrastructure Pvt Limited, stood beside us since the beginning and came forward in a moment of great need. With his generous help, we were able to acquire a second-hand building—a humble structure that soon was transformed into our Work-cum-Education Centre. It was more than a building—it was the realization of a dream.
A Glimpse into Behala Sujan’s Initiatives
At Behala Sujan, we are committed to fostering social equity, empowering the underprivileged, and creating a more inclusive society through a range of impactful activities:
Sujan Medhabritti

Depending on individual requirements, we also offer assistance with admission fees, textbooks, computers, and mobile phones to ensure these students have the tools they need to succeed.
Relief Work
In response to the devastation caused by cyclones Amphan and Yaas, Behala Sujan distributed essential supplies — including ration, tin roofing sheets, seeds, and clothing — to affected villagers in the remote areas of Samsernagar and Kakdwip, located in South and North 24 Parganas.
COVID-19 Relief
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Behala Sujan actively supported economically vulnerable communities by organizing the distribution of ration, clothing, and other daily necessities, helping local families navigate unprecedented hardships.
Oxygen Parlour
Recognizing the acute shortage of medical oxygen during the pandemic, Behala Sujan, in collaboration with other organizations, established an Oxygen Parlour to provide critical life-saving support to patients in need.
Community Celebrations
Believing in the power of connection and inclusion, Behala Sujan organizes community engagement activities such as dinners, drawing competitions, quizzes, sports events, and cultural programs at homes for children and senior citizens. Our members regularly visit these homes, engage warmly with the residents, and celebrate birthdays and special occasions, spreading joy and building lasting relationships.

A HOUSE OF HEALING
Ramkrishna Arogya Niloy
One of our most successful projects, Ramkrishna Arogya Niloy a life project, is a health care centre in Samsernagar – a remote village located in the district of North 24 Parganas, Block – Hingalganj, Beat – Jhingakhali, ( West Bengal) – very close to the Indo- Bangladesh border, adjacent to the Mangrove forests of Sundarban. It is being run in collaboration with Swamiji O Netaji Seba Sangha , a social service centre , situated in Samsernagar.
The project targets the under privileged villagers of Samsernagar and its adjoining areas. Our objective is to provide free health care to the ailing villagers so that with sound health, they are able to contribute to nation building. The project is extremely significant as the poor villagers struggle each day just to earn enough for a single meal—thinking about medical treatment becomes a distant luxury. The nearest government primary health care unit is located nearly 13 kilometers away, with no regular transport facilities, making access extremely difficult. So it takes a lot of time to avail medical treatment and moreover only a limited stock of basic medicines is available. As a result, timely and effective treatment remains out of reach for many, putting lives at risk for illnesses that could otherwise be managed or cured .
To add to the agony of the villagers , the region is haunted by Bengal tigers , causing loss both to men and cattle. We salute their indomitable spirit as their daily lives are at great risk, being challenged by not only wild animals but also natural calamities .
In such circumstances , Behala Sujan set up a health care centre, both Allopathy and Homeopathy, in 2021, October at Swamiji and Netaji Seba Sangha at Samsernagar. Medical aid is provided twice in a week. The huge number of beneficiaries , who visit the centre not only from Samsernagar but also from the
neighbouring villages. The homeopathy medicines are kindly donated by Ramkrishna Mission, Basirhat. Doctor’s fees and Alopathy medicines are provided by Behala Sujan Social Welfare Society.
Our future plan includes purchase of blood pressure meter , glucometer kit, weighing machine .
We envision transferring our clinic into a two-bedded health care unit , equipped with essential diagnostic and emergency support tools such that as an X-ray machine, glucometer, oxygen supply, blood pressure monitor and other basic medical equipments. This expansion will allow us to provide more effective and immediate care to those who have little or no access to healthcare facilities.
At present, we are awaiting funding to turn this vision into a reality. With the necessary support , we are confident that this unit will bring life-saving care to the most underserved communities, reducing their dependence on distant and often inaccessible health centres .
